En déclarations à l’agence LUSA, le porte-parole de la PJ, Olegário Sousa, confirme que depuis ce matin il y a des agents sur le terrain.
L’Inspecteur-Chef à lancé un avertissement aux journalistes qui sont dans la région pour le danger qui peux représenter leur présence à l’endroit des fouilles car il existe le risque de « contamination » des preuves et des pistes. Risque qu’est encore plus important avec l’utilisation d’hélicoptères car les hélices peuvent « mélanger » les odeurs et difficulté le travail des chiens-pisteurs qui vont retourner au travail demain matin.
Une source proche de l’enquête souligne encore « qu’il s’agit d’une piste de plus et non d’une certitude ».
Les parents on été informées depuis le premier moment mais Kate et Gerry McCann continue à croire que Maddie est en vie.

Ils ont trouvé une couverture qui pourrait être celle dans laquelle a été enveloppée Maddie. Mais espérons que ce détail ne serve qu'à brouiller les pistes, ou retarder l'enquête...

AMSTERDAM – Two reporters from the Telegraaf working alongside Portuguese police may have found important evidence on Wednesday night in the search for missing British 4-year-old Madeleine McCann. The Telegraaf reported this on Thursday.
The journalists reportedly found a towel in the area now being searched after an anonymous letter claimed that the girl's body would be found there. The Telegraaf received this anonymous letter, which included a detailed map, on Wednesday.
Maddie disappeared from a holiday apartment on the southern coast of Portugal. The towel found by reporters may have been left there by a man who other witnesses in the holiday resort town claim to have seen with a child wrapped in a towel around the time of the disappearance, the Telegraaf writes. The reporters apparently brought five Portuguese detectives to the location indicated in the anonymous letter.

The two Telegraaf reporters were questioned at the airport in Faro, Portugal on Wednesday. They informed the head of the investigation that the anonymous letter they received strongly resembles one received last year reporting where the bodies of murdered Belgian girls Stacy and Nathalie could be found.
The letter that the Telegraaf received this week contained a map with two x-marks on it and the text "probable location of Madeleine." The anonymous letter writer also reports that Madeleine's body is about 15 km from the place where she disappeared, the Telegraaf reports.
The girl is buried under "branches and stones," according to the letter. The Dutch police do not want to comment on the contents of the letter but say the tip is being taken very seriously. They handed the letter over to Portuguese authorities on Wednesday.

ils en parlent dans le second paragraphe. la découverte aurait été faite par les journalistes qui s'étaient rendus sur place avant.

Le JDD vient d'annoncer que la police portugaise aurait décidé d'abandonner la piste suggérée par la lettre anonyme
